Kia K9 (2012) first official pictures

While the 296bhp entry-level model and the 247bhp diesel don′t exactly take your breath away in the performance department, the 394bhp S model, the 493bhp Turbo and the awesome 542bhp Turbo S in particular are seriously potent instruments. The new four-wheel drive 424bhp GTS slots in between the 4S and the Turbo. It is even more vocal than the top-of-the-line model, its blacked out livery suits the character of the

very well, and the new engine is, in combination with the sharper PDK gearbox, at least subjectively every bit as aggressive as the two artificially aspirated V8s.
It's a shame that the variable-rate Servotronic steering fitted to the test car felt suspiciously light and, yes, indifferent up to 50mph while firming up substantially - especially around the straight-ahead position - at autobahn speeds. The system reduces effort up to 50kmh, but an identically equipped Panamera Turbo (which was parked in the Kacher garage for the last 12 months) was totally devoid of such symptoms, so maybe the GTS kit does entail one or two dynamic idiosyncrasies.
After months of teaser shots, passenger rides and tantalising details, we’ve finally driven the most anticipated car of the year, the Porsche Panamera. We tested the five-door gran turismo in base-model S trim, meaning rear-wheel drive and a naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 – based on the same unit you’ll find in the Cayenne S and GTS – that churns out 394bhp and 369lb ft.
All the signs are that they're going to stick with this squashed and stretched aesthetic for a new Beetle derivative.

understands that the speedster Beetle will be introduced a little later in the car's lifecycle.
Kia has launched its new K9 flagship saloon in Korea. The rear-drive V6-engined saloon, dubbed K9 in Kia's domestic market nomenclature, is a first move upmarket for Hyundai's erstwhile budget brand. CAR picked up word of the new Kia last year, when it seemed that Kia would get a V8-engined flagship to match the range-topping Hyundai Equus. It didn't quite turn out that way.
Peugeot has released pictures of its first 208-derived rally car. Peugeot says the 208 R2 has been under development since the standard model was announced in 2011, and promises to reveal two more motorsport-bred 208s by the end of 2012.
Peugeot has also switched the power steering from the electric unit found in the standard road

to a hydraulic set-up with a faster rack. Brakes and running gear are designed to be converted easily from tarmac to gravel surface specification.
